At Land of a Thousand Hills we are working every day to break the chains of poverty that bind the rural communities of Rwanda, Haiti and Thailand. And everyday more and more communities reach out to us and ask to be part of our family of Community Trade farmers. We are not a giant coffee company, we are a team of Believers that love coffee. A family that has seen multiple times how God is working in their lives of our partner communities, and how coffee has helped transform their villages. 

 

We want to help more communities. The supply is there, so is the demand. But funding is difficult. Farmers in developing countries struggle because they need payment on delivery. That makes sense, right? But only the large corporate coffee companies can deliver such large sums of cash on demand. So, the multinationals take advantage and hammer the farmers on price. They are paid considerably less for their crops than it is worth. These communities would love to sell us their coffee, but we don't have any extra funding outside of commitments for that year. 

 

We have an opportunity to work a new community in Rwanda this year. Their coffee is outstanding, they want to be paid fairly for their incredible crop, but they can't wait for payment to come in as well sell their beans pound by pound.  Would you help us?
